The Military Veteran Peer Network (MVPN) is a community of service members, veterans and miltary family members looking out for one another. Through a variety of community events and projects, MVPN strives to create an environment of trust and camaraderie through which relationships grow and flourish. Nobody can come close to understanding what it feels like to serve in the armed forces and then make that transition back to the civilian world, except someone who has done those things themselves.
The MVPN online community is organized into local Chapters and sub-groups. There are no dues or membership requirements, other than being a service member, military veteran, military family member or an engaged and appreciative civilian. Any member type can join an MVPN Chapter, and it is recommended you do. Go to the "Chapters" tab on the main navigation bar and you will see the current chapter locations. We use this online tool to organize real world events. Get to know the people from the military world that live in your town, and see what happens!
Under the "Groups" tab, we have two basic sub-types, Veteran Service Organizations and MVPN Community Groups. The VSOs listed have stepped forward to make sure the military community in their area knows they are there and they are standing by with information about resources, a variety of in-house opportunities and services, or just friendly conversation over a cup of coffee. They are veteran led and committed to providing welcoming environments for all who served. The Community Groups represent a subsection of our MVPN membership. Having these sub-groups provides an environment where people who have "been there, done that" can have room to themselves. We have the "Combat Vets" group, the "Women Veterans" group and more to come as membership requests them.
Welcome to MVPN! Find your Chapter. Join a group. Post up in the forums. Upload some pictures. It is your community!!
